Good Points for Choosing Mac OS X

Mac OS X is more robust, efficient and multitasking in nature as compare to other platforms like Windows and Linux. Rolling up nature in OS X versions (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite) has brought up Mac with new enriched apps to deliver the best performance. These apps made the working with Mac platform very easy along with the superb quick results. Few apps are paid and while others are available as free.

  1. Skype Group Calling Free on Mac
We all know about Skype and one of its features is ‘Group Calling’. Earlier, it was available with paid premium plan for Mac users; but now Skype has unleashed the curb and made the Group Calling feature free for OS X Snow Leopard or later version users. Even iPhone users can participate in-group chats. ‘Group Screen Sharing’ feature on Mac is also possible now.

To enjoy the benefits, one has to sign up for creating a free account to link into the Skype. If Mac user has Microsoft account then no worry. Simply that Mail ID can be used in Mac OS X to get into Skype account. Voice messages can be left in Skype through Mac OS X, but voice messaging must be left as activated.

  1. Great Pro Applications
There are many good professional applications like Aperture, Logic Pro X, Compressor 4, Logic Remote, Logic Studio, Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Server etc. to deliver the best output in Flash and photography area. Though multimedia is one of the best selling points for Mac but these pro apps added a nice touch in Mac.

Pro App in Mac OS X
  1. Built-in Command Line Application
In Mac, this is a very useful area, which looks scary but not difficult to use. It can be accessed either from Applications >> Utilities and double-click on ‘Terminal’ or by accessing from dock. Since OS X Tiger version, command line was so revolutionary that users became accustomed to it. Many of us don't want that occupied blinking space in Terminal till today.

This spotlight space can be hidden from the menu bar by typing a command on Terminal:

sudo chmod 600/System/Library/CoreServices/Search.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Search

once you type this command, you need to restart system User Interface server to disappear spotlight from OS X menu bar by typing the below mentioned command:

killall SystemUIServer

Mac Terminal

On the other hand, vice-versa if you want that spotlight space back on menu bar then you need to enter the following command:

sudo chmod 755/System/Library/CoreServices/Search.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Search

and again restart the System UI server by typing the below mentioned command
killall SystemUIServer
Thought the above mentioned commands are little scary but easy to implement and use to enjoy with built-in Mac app ‘Terminal’
  1. Enriched Applications: OS X Mavericks have few good apps like:
  • Mapping of contacts with Calendar application
  • Keychain Sync
  • Installation of updates automatically
  • Talk to your Mac with Dictation, have your words translation
  • Making notes in iBook with highlight feature with Mac
  • Bird Eye view for getting directions with enhanced Mad Application
  • Interaction among iOS Devices
  • Intellisense feature of auto completion an address using contact information
  • Social Media support in case of reposting re-tweeting good links

  1. No hassle with Any Virus Software
Mac is less prone to virus and attacks. There is no sturdy way to install multiple Anti virus software in Mac like Windows, where we listen news of system crash or file corruption over time to time.

In conclusion, all we can say, though Mac is costly yet it has strong power to deliver the best by Web Plugin management and enriched applications.
