Makeover of Safari Browser in OS X Yosemite

Yosemite version has come up with a modulated Safari browser. At one hand, ‘Add Bookmark’ option is now merged into the expanded share menu. And on the other side, entering into a ‘New tab’ allows a user to see Top Sites at a glance with the help of a Toggle button. Working with Safari in Yosemite has improved so much. Lets take a look.

  • Just clicking in Address bar in a pop up window can see Grid of Safari Favorites in Yosemite. If you don’t feel comfortable with this new look, make a tweak in the View Settings panel and old look can be obtained.
  • Enriched Address bar
In Safari Browser, Address bar works like a 'Spotlight search bar' to display autocomplete sites along with the results from Bing, yahoo, iTunes, Wikipedia etc.

  • How to keep a single window Private
Working in private tabs is adorable by every computer user. No one wants the browsing history to get tracked by others. To browse important data, entering in different user account by entering login ID and passwords is so pathetic. In Yosemite, just by pressing Shift+Command+N, a new private window can be obtained to browse Internet in you own way.

  • How to Trim Web Address in Safari Browser
Yosemite has added a new feature in Safari browser. Web address can be trimmed up to the main site URL instead of displaying full web address with hyphen and slashes. On the other hand, this look and feel can be changed to the old style by navigating through ‘Advanced’ tab in Preferences Settings. Check the check button ‘Smart Search Field: Show full web addresses
  • How to Manage RSS feeds in Safari
An RSS Feed can be added from any site easily. While browsing in OS X Yosemite, it can be done without installing any third party reader app. Beneath the Shared-Links pane, find a ‘Subscription’ button and click on it to move onto the screen to add any RSS feed.

  •  Sending links to Recent Recipients is now quicker
While browsing in Safari, if you are sending message or sharing any link with the same friends then Safari is too intelligent at storing those names. Safari allows the users to quickly pick the name by displaying a list of the recent recipients. Moreover, it creates an appropriate message filled with ‘To’ section to facilitate more.
  • How to Delete Browsing History
In earlier OS X versions, only two options were available to delete browsing history (all or nothing). In Yosemite, any browsing session of either last day or last hour or 48 hours can be deleted.

  • How to Sync Browsing History with other devices
In Safari browser, Yosemite gave a good feature of syncing browsing history among devices (iPhone and Mac) automatically. Without leaving tabs, any pre-visited sites can be seen easily.

  • How to explain an attachment in E-Mail
Though this feature is little time consuming but explaining an attachment like an image editing (highlighting any image, adding any text on image, drawing any circle or rectangle on image) is not easy in Yosemite. Editing in photo is now possible in Mail area rather moving towards any Photo editor. All you need to click on small arrow situated above the attached photo and get an Image editor menu equipped with the drawing tools.
  • Email Composing Area
Yosemite has added a different look to Email area. BCC menu is besides to ‘Send’ button. Any attachment up to 5GB can now be sent without any issue with the help of ‘MailDrop’ option; unlike sending anything to Dropbox first and then make confirm about the delivery in earlier versions. All is possible by uploading an item to iCloud and give the downloadable link to the recipient.

  •  Ability to Sign PDF document in Mail
This feature of Signing PDF files is available to Mac users since Leopard. The new thing in Yosemite is click the ‘add signature’ button in the pop up menu and sign the document over there unlike opening a document in preview tab and then sign it in earlier versions.

This is not the end of the tips and tricks for working with OS X 10.10 Yosemite. A lot more solutions like syncing of Messages with iMessages in Mac and others are here to explore. Keep enjoying the above-mentioned new features.
