Helpful & Trimmed Features of OS X Yosemite 10.10

Till now, Apple has revealed many OS X versions and each has its own merits and demerits. Few features are adorable and few ones are so irritating to opt as per the specifications. As we all know that after working over the Yosemite beta version, now complete OS X Yosemite is among Mac users with its unique features. Many Apple Mac users faced few issues during installation and working with the latest OS X 10.10. But let me share my experience of using the glorious features of Yosemite over here that how things are going on....

How to Remove Items from Dock?
During earlier OS X versions, while removing any item from Dockbar, we used to see the classic puff style. But, now in Yosemite while removing any item from Dock this version prompts ‘Remove’ option firstly for letting the user to know what is about to happen.

How to make an Instant Personal Hotspot?
If an iPhone is running iOS8 and Mac is running Yosemite then creating a personal Hotspot is so easy. Once Mac is in the reach of iPhone network range then (Personal Hotspot is On) turn on WiFi and you will see a new network option. Select any network and start using without putting any password.

How to send an Audio while chat?
Sometimes, explaining any topic via sending and receiving message is not enough. This latest version has come up with an option of sending an audio with the help of ‘Microphone’ icon added near the compose window in Message app.

How to share the screen in Messages?
In Message section, inside ‘Details’ there is an icon with 'overlapping squares'. This dual feature allows a user to either ‘invite to share my screen’ or ‘ask to share screen’.

How to use ‘DuckDuckGo’ feature?
In Safari Browser, by clicking on the 'magnifier' icon besides the address bar in the left side, DuckDuckGo search option can be used instead of Google, Bing or Yahoo for browsing Internet as private.

Different ‘Today View’ in Notification Area
After installing Yosemite, try to move mouse-cursor over to the ‘Notification Center’, a different tab ‘Today’ will be shown to you, providing the brief summary of different items (say, Weather, Stock) of the day ahead.

How to ‘Turn on’ iCloud Drive?
Accessing the documents, photos and other items are even faster from ‘iCloud drive’ in Yosemite version. All you need to turn-on ‘iCloud drive’ through ‘System Preferences’ panel and click the toggle button of iCloud drive to 'turn on'.

How to Enable Dark Mode?
If you want menu bar and dockbar in black color then go to General Preferences. Check the check box button (Use dark menu bar and Dock) underneath ‘Appearance’.

How to share document, photos over Airdrop?
'Airdrop' feature is less famous as compare to others. But Yosemite has added something new into it. Any photo, document and any important file can be transferred between MacBook and iPhone with Airdrop. Turn-on Airdrop application and find an icon to send the item as easy as quick.

How to take Screenshots?
Taking screenshots by bloggers and developers are too common. Usually they use third party apps for this task but with Yosemite, it is easy to record any screenshot by connecting an iPhone (running iOS8) and Mac (running Yosemite) with each other. Once both devices are connected then iTunes will be synced automatically and treat 'camera' as video camera. Launch 'QuickTime' to record what ever is happening on Screen.

How to Add Widgets to the Notification Center?
Dragging and dropping any widget to relocate somewhere on desktop is very easy in Yosemite. Just drag and item and drop on the place where you want that to be situated.

Improved Spotlight feature
Hitting command and spacebar together can launch ‘Spotlight’ feature. In Yosemite, this feature is better than earlier OS X versions. From the huge search list, any item can be found out quickly like maps, messages books etc.

It’s not an end of the Yosemite features. So many other features like resizing window, managing dictation part Launchpad folders etc. are still more to explore. Keep enjoying Yosemite.
