How to Resolve an Error - “The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable”

Where there is a will, there is a way. Every problem has its own solution, hidden somewhere else near to that. More or less, we have to explore the scenario by maintaining the relationship between the cause & effect bridge and find the perfect way to get rid. If we talk about electromagnetic devices like Windows PC, Mac, Linux then every user must have faced an error of hard drive corruption or the file corrupted and unreadable etc. Few options like drive formatting option and replacing backup up drive with a corrupted one are left feasible for those.

The corruption in hard drive is caused generally due to improper ways of handling the drive, corruption of file system, virus infection, and other such causes like electronic circuit board. Usually, Windows experts execute this command in cmd window by entering and running via Administrator mode. (Start> All Programs> Accessories. Right-click on Command Prompt icon and select 'Run as administrator')

chkdsk x: /f

This command correct errors and make an external hard drive accessible again.

But what if, the same error (File corrupted & unreadable) happens with Mac users. Their systems hung for a long time near about 25 minutes and they don't want to format Mac HDD and also unable to remove the drive safely as it prompts, 'drive is in use'

Why Mac is not sleeping properly?

In this digitized world, after a tired work schedule, everybody wants to have proper rest for a period of time. On the other hand, If we talk about electronic devices like Windows PC, Mac system or iMac machine then the question arises, do they need rest? The answer is yes! Yes, there is a need to make them sleep to save the power/energy.
There are different ways to make Mac in sleep mode like
  • Leave the system inactive for longer time than specified as earlier in ‘System Preference’ and Energy Saver pane
  • Choose ‘Sleep’ from the Apple menu
  • Pressing the power button and choosing sleep option
  • Closing the display lid of a portable system

Generally, we make a setting of ‘sleep mode’ for our machine to sleep after 20 minutes or 30 minutes of inactivity; but sometimes, it doesn’t do the same even after closing the lid. Many of us must have faced this issue of Mac waking up by itself before the set time period or keep sleeping for a long time.

The increasing trend of smart phones made our life very easier and little clumsy as well in terms of security. There are many factors which needs to be managed in smart phones in order to get the important information (like photos and authorized password files) private and hidden. If we talk about iPhones then undoubtedly it is costly as compare to other smart phones, but it is not untouched with the nefarious intentions of bad apps.

All apps are not bad but unnecessary access given to the share data may breach security. Be careful when it comes to share contacts, location services, microphone usage and bluetooth service. Lets take a look to manage iOS Settings in order to keep data secret and individualistic. Keep managing these settings by turning on/off on monthly basis and prevent suspicious apps from sending personal data to a remote server.
